UC-64A Norseman by Matchbox in 1/72 scale

Dear Members – Quite some time ago a friend showed me a WWII photo of his Dad in the South Pacific. I had him photocopy it for me so I could identify the plane he was leaning against. It took awhile, but it’s a Noorduyn Norseman, UC-64. I have the civilian version kit, and an Aerobonus figure and should be able to completely replicate the photo for my pal’s upcoming birthday. The problem is I cannot find images of what markings were on the wings’ top aandunder-wing sides (if any). There are several photos available of the tail and sides’ markings. Y’all have any suggestions/sources? Thank you. 1SGJFC

Most likely the only wing markings would be stars on the lower right and upper left wing surfaces, as in this photo. The type of insignia would be the same as on the fuselage but usually larger.

Revell owns the Matchbox molds and they released the same kit with US markings. Many of the US Norseman were silver dope finish instead of OD/NG.
