I’m posting this here in this forum and in the ship forum. Does anyone know of were I might be able to find some decently clear plan or maps of the German sub pens in France? I saw a PBS show yesterday about the sub pens in France and I thought that would be a cool Dio to build. I haven’t decided on a scale because I’m not sure if I want to just build the pens or the whole base including the locks and turntable and repair shelters. If anyone has suggestions please let me know.
Last month as I was playing with the Google Earth app, I looked up the La Rochelle U-boat pens. Of course it doesn’t show any interior pics but the main pen and surrounding areas should be about the same has it was during the war. One can even see the bomb damaged repairs to the roof. And recall the Das Boot scene of the sub departing the pen and into the channel way.
