The pictures are a bit small. It looks like you may have right-clicked on the thumbnails (to get the properties) at Photobucket rather than using the links they provide (that’s just a guess). I went to your album, at Photobucket, but the pictures are a little bit too dark to see details.
Sorry to be so negative but if you could take some more pictures with a bit more light it would be a great help.
David, I hate to say this, but I have to agree with davros.
Bigger and brighter pictures are the only way to get us to give you a decent opinion. [sigh]
BTW, what kit is it used ?
I hope this helps.[:)]
The kit was bought at the Museum of Science and Industry in CHicago when I went to visit the U-505 exhibit (Great place)[8D]

Ahoy David,
Your u-boat is coming along just fine. Very good for a first ship.
My only comment…this model which is supposed to represent U-505 is far from being
accurate.
If you would like to make a better model of U-505 a Type IX-C, look for these models:
Nichimo Type IX-C scale 1:200 and the Mini Hobby Models of the same u-boat. The detail
of these two kits surpass the Monogram “Wolfpack” by a mile and you will have a lot of
fun with the extra detail. Also you will have a better rendition of a Type IX-C as you saw
in the Chicago museum.
Have a nice day and happy modelling,
Joe
[bow]Thank you for the model ideas, I am preparing to make a dio of a U-boat on the surface. All help appreciated[bow]

Ahoy David,
The models I mentioned in the previous post will lend themselves very well to
a surface or docked u-boat. The Nichimo or the Mini Hobby Models kits hulls are
split at the waterline so if the u-boat is in “water” you don’t have to go through
the ordeal of cutting the hull.
There are two more kits available with split hull at the waterline.
Mini Hobby Models 1:200 IX-B …single deck conning tower. The IX-C had the
double decked wintergarten.
Academy Minicraft 1:150 Type IX-B u-boat. This kit has an unusual diving mechanism
(toyish) but if you use the upper hull, deck and tower, it will make for a fine model
when shown on the surface. The are a couple of holes that will have to filled in though.
There is a build of this kit at:
http://www.steelnavy.com/AcademyUIXBjp.htm
This the Academy 1:150 scale Type IX-B that I converted from this kit.
Please note that the conning tower was superdetailed and the propulsion
and dive mechanisms were heavily modified.
Cheers,
Joe
Thanks Joe for the modeling reference. I was looking and found a web site you might like to check out if you don’t know about it already.I will post pics when done with the U-Boat dio.
