Tyrrell P34

I was wondering if anyone has the Tyrrell P34 in 1/12? Heck, even if you don’t have it, maybe you can help. I’m looking for the size that it builds up to. What’s the length? Or if anyone knows what the length of the real car is, I can easily convert the size.

Thanks in advance! [:D]

As a guess I would say it would be at most 15" long and 7" wide. Probably less.

II,
Measured out to 12" approx!
I do not have the engine bay attached yet.
That is for 1/12
For 1/20 It measures out at Appox 9".
I have an older box for both kits and the writting on the side is all in Japanese.
Let me know if you need more detailed information

dkmacin- thanks for the help! It’s going on my Christmas list & I was wondering which one I should get- 12th vs. 20th. I think I’ll go for the 1/12![:D] Bigger is better! It may be considered sacreligious by some here[;)], but I had plans to turn it into the robot form of Drag Strip from the old Transformers cartoon.

How does it build up? I expect very well as it’s Tamiya. I was planning on using as many parts from the car as possible, not just the body.

YOUR WHAT!!
(sounds of slapping my head)
Luckily I’m on the computer so my shaking hands do not make my writing illegible.
Tamiya 1/12 kits rule even the old ones like the Tyrrell P34.
They make great looking models of race cars, not sure how it will build into a robot.

Don

Sorry, dude. Didn’t mean to give you a mini-heart attack. [:O]

Yea, me neither. But it should be fun trying! [:D][:P]

Yeah,
Well it wasn’t a heart attack. . .mini stroke maybe.
I suppose now that the 1/12th has been re-re-re-re-released it will be okay, but have you considered building Gundam kits to get this out of your system?

Kidding.

POS,
My computer is doing really stupid and I cannot bring up your last post. . .
Nothing shows up under the quote. . .?
I’ll bet it was funny. . .

Seriously, I am curious now, post o picture of this creation when you complete it.

POS II (sorry [:)]),

I have a partial 1:20 P34 Tyrrell I got at a model swap awhile ago. Body panels, mostly. (I’m keeping the 4 front wheels & tires for a go-cart idea) If you can use the pieces, let me know. Maybe we could trade or something.

The reply was three laughing smilies! Well, it all depends on when if I get the kit for Christmas! You guys can bet that I’ll post in-progress shots as I go.
Drag Strip is the first of a couple that I have in mind. Hound would be cool. I’d give him to a friend, as he was his favorite:

I was also thinking about Jazz:

Optimus would be cool:

Bumblebee would be neat to do in three versions- his first form, the Goldbug version & maybe get a “new Beetle” kit & do him with that kit:

And in 1/32 scale, the big one I’m working up to (gotta practice first!) is my favorite, Air Raid. I figure that at that scale with his legs taking up almost 1/3 of the height, he’ll be over two feet tall, closer to three!! [:O]

Alright, I’ll forgive you… this time! [;)] Actually, my little brother is v1.0, so I took the “II” moniker.

Thanks for the thought! [:D] Check out the link, though. Drag Strip has the four wheels on his shoulders, so I’d need them. I was originally thinking of doing it in 1/12, but now you got me thinking of 1/20 as it would be in scale with some SUVs I’m building that sport my station’s logos. It’d be fun to see them side by side & see what he would look like “in real life”.
I wouldn’t want to take your wheels (& thus your go-cart project) away from you, but again, thanks for the thought. However, if you ever feel like trading it all, I’ll be here. [;)]
