Does anyone have some techniques for replicating tyre bulge?
The easiest way I’ve heard to do it is to gently place the tire on a hot clothing iron. This melts the plastic slightly and bulges the tire out.
I’ve also heard you can sand the bottom, and build up the edges using your favorite type of putty.
I’ve never tried either technique myself, so take these with a grain of salt. I hope that this is at least a start.
I’ve seen someone place a glob of putty on each side, get a basic shape by contouring with his fingers, and then sanding the rough spots until it looks like you want.
I have heard many different way to do it. The way I do it is place a small amount of super glue on either side of what’s going to be the bottom of the tire. Next sand the bottom flat. Then lightly sand the glue spots. When painted it simulates a weighted tire.
Someone ( I would give credit but I forget) on here may have a better method. He said he heats the tire slightly then presses it down on a flat surface. I have not tried it myself yet, but it does sound alot easier.
HAy Phoenix yep that was me heat it up smush it down on a flat suface. you gave me the CA tip on my Fw190. It works just have to be careful.
