It’s getting close. Is everyone set with kit, CA and quick drying acrylics?
Out of curiosity, who’s definitely in and what kit do you intend to use?

Im in. And Im ready … If I get my new compressor that is, because im not going to brush paint this thing. I ordered it 2 weeks ago, but I haven’t heard a thing. [V]
Well I’ll keep my fingers crossed. I’ll be building Hasegawa’s Late Tiger I with PE zimmerit. Maybe Im in over my head but it will be fun.
The link says no PE and no AM…and only 1/72. Are these rigid or only guidelines to keep people from going insane in a 24-hour period? 
I guess I better fill in some details for the newer members.
The idea is to see what a group will do with one kit in a short amount of time. Originally I was going to get a sponsor so we all had the exact kit, but shipping to the 5 continents represented so far would be a logistical nightmare. I think the group is about 20 or so as of now and it should be a pretty wild flurry of progress posts on the day.
The reason behind no AM or PE was tp see how dofferent modelers will interpet a basic kit. Some have bought kits that have PE or zimm included which is fine.
To enter, you just have to post a pic of the box on or in front of your local newspaper or weather channel or something showing the date and off you go…
The main idea is to have a blast.

So this is one day only? Is there a limit to scale? Tiger 1 only or is the 2 and variants Ok?
Don’t know if I will be able to do this or not but I’ll keep it in mind.
The way I understand it is: Tiger I only. 1/72nd scale only. You can only use whats in the box. My kit came with a set of PE zimmerit in the box, so that is why I can use PE on my kit, you are not allowed to buy any extra PE or AM parts.
Sounds like a blast, I’m looking forward to seeing the flurry as well! I don’t have good luck with 1/72, so will be a spectator. I’m not even sure if I could manage a 1/35 in 24 hours…[:D]
Im In for sure! I have ordered dragons brand new 1/72 tiger I Ausf E. Late Production with Zim. that should save me a lot of time for a kit review says its got detailed rubber band tracks and it has zimmerate.
When it arrives can I open it and examinate the sprues? Or do I havee to leave it in its plastic wraping?
Also, Do we have to post on the 8th? or can wepost on the 9th? I will be staying at My grammas house, with no commputer. But Im not sure if that is the correct date.

I can’t decide! Should I be a good boy and just go straight box stock with the Tunisia Tiger I, or Wittmann’s Tiger using the new Dragon “Zimmertiger?”
Or, should I cheat? [:p]
I’m very tempted to build the Tiger that I want to do the most – a Kursk vehicle from LSSAH. That would involve a tiny bit of prohibited kitbashing – using the turret sides of the Revell late-ish Tiger with all the rest of the stuff of the Revell very early Tunisia Tiger. D’oh!
And the Kursk vehicle would probably require that I handpaint the numbers of the 13th company. So that has me tempted to look for aftermarket decals! Gott in Himmel, more violations of the rules!
Should I be good or should I do the tank I want and betray everything I hold sacred? Stay tuned!
(I should say that I did a T34/76 in an evening a few months ago, and would love to put it in a display with an LSSAH Tiger I for Prokorovkha. LSSAH’s Tigers was at the very apex of the German tank wedge in that titanic battle.

I’m still in as well.
I still haven’t decided between the Revell Tiger, which I already have, and the new Dragon Tiger, which is slowly making it’s way across the country to me as I type. I already know what’s in the Revell kit and it looks great, but I’d really like to see a “first look” of the Dragon kit before I make up my mind.

Your lucky robert, I have to wait a little longer for my dragon kit because I also got an out of stock item that they had to get[:(] But it will be worth the wait!

I’m really looking forward to this shipment because in addition to the Dragon Tiger, it also has the new Dragon 1/35 PzKpfw I Ausf B, the Tristar 1/35 Waffen SS Panzer Crew, and the Maquette SdKfz 11 Munitionsschlepper.
Christmas in July…gotta love it!!!

But keep in mind that Cookie is an Allied/Modern AFV guy and not a German armor wonk. Still, heck, it’s 1/72nd scale, so it’s not the end of the world if the kit is not 100%.
I think I’m going with this kit. I can always build the Kursk Tiger as well – I’ve got the kits for it already. [:p]
I may ditch the Tigers you get decals for and actually do another late Tiger I using the Dragon kit.

ausf, I’m still a go. I am going to try and pick up one of the new DML Tigers I’s with zimmerit. If I can’t get it, or I don’t like it, I will be doing the Revell Tiger I H. I mentioned this build to my wife last night. She reminded me that the satellite dish puts the date and time on the tv screen. When I told her it was on Sunday, she said, “Well, I guess you won’t be going to Church that day!” I’ll have to see how that goes!! lol
