Two weeks in the trash

Erf.

I apologize that you had to listen to my whining. Back to meaninglessness i go. zoop!

Henry, my friend, this is something I hate to hear, because I’ve had the same type of experience with a certain number of my models. No-one likes it and be certain that at some stage, in a way or another, this has happened to all of us, probably more than once.

My advice is to take your loss and learn to live with it. And get any spare parts you can salvage in your spare box! One day you might be very happy to have a couple of spare wheels or the like, believe me!

One thing though, I do know hoew you feel, but this is a site visited by lots of people from various ages and cultures and it might be worth you ‘toning down’ your anger, particularly when it comes to expressing it with swear words…

Look at it from the bright side… Apparently that camo job was just a little too good![;)][:D]

Sorry to hear about the incident. Rest assured that if you stick with the hobby long enough, something like this is bound to happen again. All I can say is “next time you will know not to leave it on the floor.”

Pantless, you should talk to someone in person about this. Try siblings, friends, teachers, or a psychiatrist. You need help. No one should hate being alive, and a little thing like a broken model shouldn’t send you over the edge. Your anger clearly runs much deeper than that. Smile and try to get over this little modeling setback and then try to deal with what it is that really bothers you.

Dude, by the way, I just visited your website, and you’ve got some talent with the airbrush. Nice paintjobs on the Stug and Panther.

Pantsless-
I agree with ShamRage- you do beautiful work - that winter camo is superb…and I’d be thrilled if my Panther V paint looked as good as yours did.

I also agree with him that you need to talk to someone about what’s goin on inside you. That’s too much rage to have for someone your age. Find someone to talk to…a priest, a rabbi, a professor. Please get some help.

Dude, I’ve been there many times! I also hated being alive when I was your age! I got into models partly to forget that as well, but mostly because of a good friend who helped my with my modeling skills. I understand your frustration with losing a model to a family members clumsiness and/or carelessness. I had two younger brothers that used to play with my models all the time. I could tell when they were at it because I’d come back in and find my models broken and misplaced. Yes, I got angry too. Still, with the help of my mom, I found someone to talk to at school. She and my friend Emmanuel down the street helped pull me through it all. I hope you will find someone who’ll do the same for you.

Man, you are a whiz with the Airbrush! That is incredible what you did on that Panther, and the Stug! Woah! I’ll never be able to do that, and I’ve been buildiing for over thirty years!

Henry you have a lot of talent as seen from your website, don’t let this incident discourage you. We have all had unfortunate things happen to us during a build, but somehow we shake it off and continue to do what we love. As advised by other members, it would be in your best interest to seek the inner problem that bedevils you, to correct it and become a happier person. Good luck.

Henry my friend, you are not alone[|(]… My parents did the same thing to my room and some other things and guess what they managed to break… My Beautiful Tiger[:(], 2 shemans, a StugIII g late, My gorgues tiger II[censored]… which I spent a good month on, my podrace which I won first place in a competition several years ago[soapbox][censored], my USS MISIOURI, FORESTAL, FLETCHER, and PT 109, and lastly my dio with my first 88 gun I ever built. not to mention some figures I did up real nice and they practically handed them to the dog. however I am glad to say I managed to finally get it through their thick skulls [swg] and they have pretty much stopped meadling in my affairs, except when I destroy something on accident. Try haveing several talks with ur parents, it worked wonders for me. just a word of caution though DONT GET UPSET or YELL what ever you do, and you will have an easier time, it took me like 3 trys to figure that one out. good luck man, and sometimes I know what you mean about the hate being alive thing. but hang in there man. [;)] things are slowly getting better for me.

PS> how old are you??? 7-10, 11-13,12-16 or higher??? I just want to know what age you got in this boat at. for me it was 12 years old, they never managed to wreack the crap models that dont deserve to be called models, they always manage to wreck the good ones. lol I had a whole shelf of worthless models that had been moved carefully, and there they are sitting there with a sherman I spent 3 weeks on… [xx(] “Im sorry honey… we accidently broke it” lol I just sit there, with an O M G ( [:O] )look on my face, then I slowly look at the shelf of crap models all nicley arranged!? [%-)] DUDE they couldnt wreck the modles I didnt care about!?[D)]

Damn dude you do have talent, Dont give up the hobby till u atleast get your work published in FSM!

Looking at you web site youve got as many unfinished kits as me[:)]
but when you do finish them they are worth waiting for
i hope you get everything worked out
Take care of yourself Henry

Erf.

dude, just rig your models with some det cord and a spool of constanteena wire ( RAZOR WIRE ) they’ll be more careful after the first one!

JFYI, it just sounds like you need to get away from home and the whole area, join the army or something take a break from school, move into an apartment close to main campus, join a fraternity, either way, it all makes going home to visit much better (the mom and dad will pamper the heck out of ya )

I hope you don’t consider this response “funny.”
I know absolutely nothing about you or your family and life situation, but since you have chosen to express here in the forums your anger towards your parents and evidently life in general, you obviously are looking for support. Which everyone here is trying to provide.
I’m not going to butter you up with compliments, because I don’t think that’s what you’re looking for.
I will only offer this advice: do your best to communicate with your family. Let them know how you feel. Ask them for help. And listen.

I hope your situation improves.

as much as you probably think my sympathy is just because of the boat your in, its not, I only feel sympathetic for people who I think deserve it. (not very many at all) most things I could care less about, but I know how you feel cause I’m there and have been for a while. Plus that is sad dude lol you havnt celebrated a Birthday in 9 years or so…

Henry: I think we have all been in the same boat as you at one point… I had a mother that was a cleaning fanatic ( obsessive compulsiveis what the shrinks call it ) where she would storm through our rooms at any time of day or night and start throwing stuff away and breaking things we cared about! I remember one morning my sisters were crying in the room next to me and she was on one of her tirades practically destroying all af their things !!! It was ridculous to be honest … I don’t think you parents are trying to break your beloved projects on purpose ( I would certainly hope it is an accident anyhow) From the looks of your stuff you have the drive to do anything you would want to do , very high quality work especially for a 19 year old , excellent attention to detail there . So don’t give up on it , Its a great hobby that gives you a great sense of accomplishment when you pull off a new technique or paintjob! Did you know that some people in this world have no hobbies or interests at all except doing drugs and drinking , now those are lives wasted !!! You have talent my friend keep going ! And remeber this when ya move out of their home , your girlfriend , wife and or kids will be breaking them too ![B)][:0] Believe me I know that firsthand as well ! Peace … Shawn[:)]

My dad employed some cynical myopic old hag to do the cleaning in our house after my parents seperated when I was 15. She managed to damage each and every kit I had ever built, so she was soon banned from my brother’s and my room. I feel your pain…

By the way, you are annoyingly good with that airbrush. I’d say use that talent and do something with that talent besides modelling. Ever thought of channelling this anger and putting it into paintings?

I’m no psychologist, took alot of it in college, but my guess is you aren’t being paid attention too, maybe not being understood. It’s not uncommon at 19 to not have a goal or direction in life. Heck, I was there too. It lasted for some 6 more years. You can’t conquer the world over night. I assume you are aloner; no girlfriend? What you said in your opening post screams, " Please someone listen to me". You know what? We did and we we are here to listen some more. Most depressed people who threaten suicide almost always threaten to carry it out, but what they really want is an ear and some understanding. It’s really important to consult with a professional on the matter. I’m not embarressed to admit that my wife and I had counseling some 2 years ago and things are better than ever. Give it a try, it can only improve your situation. God Bless.

Get yourself a girlfriend. [:P]
In a matter of minutes you will be saying “what panther”.

That’s my version of “take 2 and call me in the morning”
