These are two models that I started at the same time as the Storch and the Skyservant. They are finally done now. Actually, the P-51 was already done, but before I took pics and posted here, I took it to my IPMS model meeting where it crashed on approach!
The 1/72 scale OV-10 I was trying to make look extra good, but I failed miserably. Fingerprints all over, (I haven’t left fingerprints on a model in YEARS!![:(!][V]) residue on the cockpit canopy from the liquid mask I used, dust all over the white wing, silvered decals…
MAN, I [censored]! [banghead][|(][|(]
Okay, Here’s my 1/72 scale Israeli P-51D Mustang restored to it’s former glory:

Ooops, I just noticed I put up the wrong photos. These were taken before I painted the interior of the landing gear doors. Just pretend you can see the Zinc Chromate green because it’s already on there.
Now for this next one. All you 'Nam vets, particularly Marines, I don’t know how many of you ever saw these in the 'Nam, but this one’s for all of you:

That’s all that I have of these. All my aircraft I’ve been working on are done so far; at least the small ones.
Thanks for looking and comments are welcome.
You mean those diirs aren’t green? Could have fooled me[:D]
I really like the OV-10. The white wing really sets it off. As for the fingerprints, can’t see them i the pics and the canopy looks like it is just waiting for the crewchief to come out and give it a little TLC after a dry, windy day. From what I can see here you have a couple of really nice kits. Maybe you can hang the Bronco from the ceiling and make the best out of a 10 footer.

Two good-looking builds, Duke. Nice to see a Mustang wearing something a little different than the standard Stars and Bars!

Thanks everyone for the great responses. I do appreciate the compliments. Thank you all for stopping in.
Hey Duke, nice builds![tup]
Both are very interesting paint schemes and nicely done. I think the OV-10 looks cool.[8D]
I really dig both of your builds. You did a great job of producing some eye catching paint schemes. Thanks for sharing them with us!
Eddie
Really nice job on both! [bow]
Thanks guys! Glad you like them. Next up, a British Laser Harrier.
sir: as a Marine Air fan, i would sure like to know the unit, time-period etc, if you don’t object to being imitated. i did the kit in 1968 with a fluorescent cockpit that looked great under a black light, guess its time to update.
Man, that OV-10 brings back some memories. I remember building one of those with my Dad before he went on his 2nd tour to Viet Nam. That was back when I brush painted everything and I remember it took FOREVER for the white on the wings to dry. Being a young kid with very little patience I of course wound up with all kinds of fingerprints on the wings, but that didn’t matter. I still thought it was waaaay cool! [8D]
Thanks Espins for the great compliment. Yeah, those early days were a blast! I still have a number of models that look like that from my early days! LOL!
Bujinin, this aircraft was from VMO-2 USMC, time period uncertain. I’m thinking somewhere around 1966-67 or thereabouts. The instructions say this was the CO’s aircraft, flown by Lt. Col Farber. No, I don’t mind being imitated. Who knows, you may even do better than me. Go for it!
I still have two or three more to build too. One will be Air Force, the other Army, if the Army had them.
