Two good fines!!!

WOW! Found a couple good models yesterday on way home from work at one of local Goodwill thrift stores and a consignment store called Stuff Etc. One is Monogram 1:48 scale B-24J Liberator. The other a AMT/Ertl 1:72 scale. Boeing B-52G Stratofortress.

Congratulations on your finds! I think it is an excellent idea to check out consignment and Goodwill stores. A few years ago I stopped in a local thrift shop that had 60 models at $3 apiece (after negotiating the entire lot). These included large Revell and MPC airliners (Tristars, 747s, etc), Monogram 1/48 B-17, B-24, a couple of 1/72 B-1’s, Airfix 1/24 fighters, etc. Maybe not state of the art, but for $3 apiece I was thrilled. Hope to see your builds displayed here on the forum!

Another good place to check out for great model finds is garage sales! I have found some good stuff for next to nothing. Sometimes they are started but salvageable. This is sale season so keep the radar on!

I’ve had great luck at garage sales.

Lucky, I have never had good luck at stores or garage sells.

Sometimes it helps to be a regular shopper at thrift stores since you never know what they’ll have. Garage sales, just have to go around til you find one that has what you want. Some days while garage saling with the wife I never find anything. Just one of those things. Some days I’ll find something some days seems like wasted time. Flea markets and swap meets are good too.

My Granddad just picked up a $300 dollar aircraft carrier kit w. many aircraft and details for $20 at a flea market. No word yet on exactly which carrier, and who made it. Its gonna cost him more than he paid for it to ship it from Maryland to me in florida! Jeez, I wish i had your or his luck, but i never find any models at sales.

Garage sales and various thrift stores can provide good deals on lots of things, If you have a lot of free time to visit them.
