Two armor models cheap at Bear Air

I was browsing around and found these two models on clearance at BearAir:

The Desert Patrol HMMWV is an old kit and not accurate. It was a prototype that the US did not buy. A couple of the issues are the front bumper was a prototype with 4 holes, the production HMMWV has only 3. The rear of the prototype should not have the tailgate and half doors. It actually had two doors that went fron top to bottom. It was designed as a troop carrier with two seats that went on the rear wheel wells and faced in, allowing for 6 troops to be carried in the back. Lastly, the tires are horrible and don’t look like actual HMMWV ones at all.

Your choice, but if you want a decent HMMWV at a pretty cheap price, get one of the older Academy ones. In some areas, I think they are still better than the newer Tamiya HMMWVs.

I don’t know the particulars on the Tiger, but I suspect it is about the same as the above.

Bottom line, you get what you pay for.
