Thanks, Mucker!
Got my kit without having to go to the land of evilbay.[party] Got it from a LHS that buys collections. Decals are shot and no glass, it did have the original tube of glue though. It is the Aoshima 1/72 Tigercat in all its raised panel glory.
sweet, an “esoteric” kit [8D]
Hey Everyone,
Count me in, I’m just about finished with my 1/48 Tamiya F4U-1A Corsair (Gigatron’s F4U Corsair GB). I’m looking for another GB to join.
I have a 1/48 Revell P-38J that I’m going to try to tame. Judging from previous posts on this kit, my work is cut out for me.
Looking forward to building with all of you [:)]
Pleased to have you join!
bspeed the Kit is actually the P-38J and im converting it to The Recon version of the P-38/ F-5E
Ah, appreciate that, nice that you are going to set a challenge for yourself
Started the Tigercat today. Gonna try something different and fold the wings on this one. Aoshima provided a trough where the wings separated from the wingtips so I took out the trusty Xacto and presto a three piece wing. Not going to do anything fancy, just a block off plate and some stubs to act as supports. Here’s a link to the pics
change in plans its gonna be a regular P-38
bspeed - Don’t sign me up yet, but I had a thought. Do the “twin” engines have to be identical twins? Since you show “Prop/Jet”, how about one of each ? It has happened, at least once.
Dick
Sounds interesting, heck a link to them would be cool to see [:D]
Count me in; I’m tentatively looking at my Revell 1/72 Eurofighter Typhoon Twin-seater, but let me get back to you with a confirmation.
Great, thanks for joining!
Got the fuselage together but still have some work to do on it. There is a gap along the top of the nose which I’ve filled and am waiting for the putty to dry. There’s a mismatch along the leading edge of the tail which I still need to take care of. Put about 30-40 BBs in the nose for weight and it will stay on its nose wheel, but when I was turning it so I could get the nose on shot it reared back and sat on it tail. Since I’m going to mask the framework and paint the inside of the canopy silver, adding more weight won’t be a prob. Here’s a couple of pics that I’ve added to the folder
[:D][:D]
A shout out for Lewbud, his Factory is up and running!
Bud. Don’t worry about it sitting its tail. They did that in real size too. They used to prop up the tail with a 55 gallon drum and a crate. JOHN
Badge - progress on the Badge can be seen here…

Oh SNAP! Dude, that’s coming along awesome! It looks like you’re doing an airbrush project on paper and you’re going to scan/PhotoShop it later on?
John,
I knew that, but thanks for the encouragement. I’m lazy enough as a modeler, but I’ll correct things that don’t look right. A plane sitting on its tail that ain’t a tail dragger just don’t look right.
My Son is making it for us ![]()
