Sorry for the long-winded opening, but there was someone on this forum, a girl I think looking for stuff on the Tuskegees.
I was browsing through some old mags looking for stuff on Old Crow, and came across an article in FlyPast magazine from April 2002 called Segregated Skies. It deals with the Tuskegee Airmen.
If you want, whoever you were, I can scan and e-=mail them to you.
frostygirl was doing a diorama with a small scale B-17 and is still searching for a Mustang I believe…
I am also about to take on building all 4 of the fighters they flew in the war-- the P-39, P-40, P-47, and P-51. I am searching for some P-47 Tuskegee pics as I have no idea what they looked like…so if the article you mention has any pics of them, I’d appreciate seeing it.
Jeeves,
The URL below will take you to a great website of a group that restored one of the Tuskegee Airman’s P-51s. Awesome site with lots of pictures. You may have already seen it, but just in case…
Also, I recently finished a Pro Modelor 1/48 P-51B/C flown by Capt Bill Toppins, the Topper III. Nice kit, if I had a digital camera I’d post some pics.
yeehah:
yep, that would include me…
i’m working (very slowly) on my 1/144 flying fortress
i now have a minicraft p-51 in 1/144
and an airfix p-51 in 1/72
but i still want the Academy Red Tails kit, because the other 2 models r kind of weak… good enough 4 background, but i’d like the p-51 2 really b outstanding, just like the men who flew them !
any info on the airmen is always appreciated, u can e-mail c/o my friends address (film_shipping@moma.org) just put "for frosty’ on the topic header & it wil get 2 me…
please excuse the l8 reply but i’ve been 2 busy 2 get online much the past week or 2… [xx(]
