I don’t build many auto , maybe ten in the past ten years but do occationaly buy a Scale Auto now and again to pickup detail tips.
Octobers issue makes referance to “Tuners”. Just what type of auto is it and were did it get its name?
I have a foggy idea of what the might be but need inlightenment.
Thanks for any light you may shed on the subject.
Tuners refer to the small compact cars that are customized and given performance upgrades. Typically, they are Japanese cars; Honda/Acura, Toyota, Mitsubishi… etc.
I’m not sure where the term “Tuners” originates from.
HEY,
I think they are called tuers because you can “tune” them into your driving ability and style, and they are “tunable” i guess.
Randy
tuners refers to “tuning” the chassis. aka camber, caster, roll center, f&r toe., exc… the also tune the engine for maximun performance. the air/fuel ratio changed for maximun hp and stuff like that. it is more concentrated on how well the chassis is set up, and hop precise the motor volume is rather than the traditional hp is everything american cars.
Thanks for the info guys, I was almost right. I figured it had something to do with the cars mentioned above but thought they were the ones janm packed with woofers, sub woofers, speakers and alike, thanks for setting me straight.
well you arent too far from the truth. subwoofers and style is an integral part of tuning
will this inspire you to grab a car kit and start building ?
