Trumpter 1/200 Titanic on its way?

Kitlinx sent an e-mail saying that it was “on it’s way”. I wonder if this is just hype or is it actually being shipped to sellers. Glad all my Christmas shopping is done. Need to see if my credit card has stopped smoking yet, cause its about to take another hit! LOL

Available now from Megahobby for $449.00.

Just bought it from Kitlinx for $379. Supposed to be on to me.

love that they produced this kit. now lets get onto a 1/200 Queen Mary (1) or United States!

[dto:]

Cap’n Ted over at EModels just picked his up–that beast is huge.

I still want Trumpter to produce 1. INJ Yamato and 2. Latest Nimitz or Ford class carrier. Either or both in 1/200 scale. Yes , I like to build big.LOL

Oh Come On! uspsJuan!

Everybody always gets excited about " Another " Titanic! What about the Normandie/Laffayette? or the Andrea Doria or even the S.S.United States. The Titanic wasn’t the only ship to sink in " Modern " times. How about one of her sisters?

I’d even take the Queen Mary with optional parts to do her bow after she cut the British Cruiser in half, kept going for a long time Before they fixed it. Direct hit, Same general construction and she survived ! Nuff Said!

Oh, I forgot a very important ship. The Isle de France stood by the stricken Andrea Doria for quite a while taking on Doria Passengers.

I’d love a Lusitania, I’ll even settle (prefer) 1/350.

Tank Builder, I hear you. For me , it has to do with reading the book “Raise the Titanic” as a kid. It started a life long infatuation with this ship. Not really onto civilian liners per say but I wanted a Titanic. Was ready to but the Academy kit till I saw the info about the Trumpter kit. The rest is history as they say. I will put it in line with my other 1/200 ships . Missouri and Yorktown. Still want a Yamato and Nimitz/Ford .

ah yes… the search for “bizantium”

Update: Kitlinx’s website said kit would be in by 02/20/2020. Looked on the sight on the 20th and it said the kit was “available now” yet I had no e-mail that my kit was on the way. Not this morning the kit is back on pre-order! Really trying to understand what’s going on here. No answer yet to my e-mail as to the status of my order. Wouldn’t be so bad if I didn’t have to pay for it up front. Rant over, Happy building.

I got one from Megahobby as did my friend. It arrived in only two days. I also have a 1/350 Lusitania coming from Australia through ebay. I’ll be busy for some time.

I think it would be a nice change of pace to work on a LARGE model like this. It’s tempting to buy and build, but where would I put it. Bummer.

I hope you guys post pics of the model and the builds.

I’m tempted to say “I told you so”, Juan.

Well, I did. Any preorder of any kit has to be made with throw away money. It’s terrible, but it’s so common.

You are correct GM. And I did. I am just so impatient. It was all for not. Had I seen their newsletter, I would have read that the shipment to them was delayed. I have since received e-mails that the shipment arrived and that my kit has shipped and is scheduled to arrive on Tuesday. It’s not like I’m waiting on it to get started. I have one on the work bench and one behind that. I’m so like a kid waiting on Christmas. LOL Happy building everyone!

I watched a kit review and this kit looks awesome.

I’m very happy the huge Titanic is out, and maybe I will scrape up the cash to buy it. The best part is that the manufacturers decided to do a civilian ship, rather than another warship. It is a breath of fresh air.

If I were to propose something in the same vein, how about a 1/200 Liberty Ship? They made such a valuable contribution to the war effort, and were the core of a number of companies after the war when so many of them were available cheap.

Well my kit finally docked yesterday! I was like a kid at Christmas getting it out of the shipping box. The top to the kit box did not want to lift off so I could get inside! I was loosing my patience quickly when she finally slid open. It is just as described in all the videos. Thinking about getting the detail up set from Trumpter but really only want the wood decks. Maybe I’ll wait to see who comes out with wood decks. All in all I think it was worth the wait as this looks to be quite the project. Looking forward to see how it looks when the LED’s are turned on. Happy building everyone!

Hi;

You know, I got to thinking ( I know, that’s dangerous at my age). I guess it can’t be too bad. The sheer size would impress anyone, But look at all the room for superdetailing. I would even cheat and use “N” scale figures on her. Bring her Alive!

By shifting scales a little with the deckhouse area you could create her sister or the " Lucy" Also at that size I would create a couple of windows in the opposite side from the viewers so you could turn it around occassionally to show some of the hull and deckhouse interiors. Imagine the reaction you would get.

I create freeform windows by making a mold of casting resin formed in a silicon mold that I make of a particular surface. That way I don’t lose the original detail. They do work very thin if you are careful.
