Finished this the other day. Trumpeters T-62 1972 OOB except for the tow cables.
Oh wow - really nice work!
Squadron had several versions of the Trumpeter T-62 on sale last week and I picked up the '72 version with the ERA bricks- if she turns out half as good as yours I’ll be very happy!

Paint work kinda went like this:
Primer with Tamiya white fine primer.
Pre-shade with Tamiya XF-1 flat black around edges and hatches
Basecoat with Tamiya XF-13 JA Green then highlighted with the same mixed with Tamiya XF-60 Dark Yellow.
Pinwash with burnt umber.
Lots of drybrushing with cheapo Folk Art acrylic from Hobby Lobby in colors Kelly Green and (sounds horrible) lime green. A bit of some drybrushing in some areas with Vallejo olive green.
Chipping done with a brush in areas of Vallejo Cavalry Brown, actually more of a red color than brown.
Sponge and brush chipping with Game Color Charred Brown.
Lots of dusting with Mig pigments Dark Mud and Europe Dust.
Bare steel is AK Dark Steel pigment used very sparingly.
Whew! Sounds like a lot but really wasn’t that bad. The key is layers layers layers.

Holy cow, John—that’s freakin SWEET! I love the tonal variation and color modulation in the finish! Really one of the nicest T-62s I’ve seen!
Hi T-Bolt, Thanks for the compliments! I’m not sure of the differences in the versions of T-62 from Trumpeter. Most likely additions in reactive armor and such upgrades. I do know that they are some fine kits!

@John, Very nice. As everyone else said great paint job. Two quick questions though, is the T-62 one of the earlier kits like the T-54/55/Type-59 Series or a later one? and Rubber band tracks? If so they look well done, any tips?

Thanks Wayne! I’d like to say that I had the finish planned out like this but it turned out more by accident. I just kept messing around with it till it looked right to me. As they say, even a blind squirrel gets an acorn every now and then.

Konig, thanks for stopping by and the compliments. I don’t know if this is an earlier or later kit as it’s the first Trumpeter kit I’ve built. It does come with indy links, a metal barrel, wire for the tow cable (that I didn’t use) and small etch fret for the screens and a couple of brackets. It went together very well with only one fit issue. That was the front return roller that was very loose. Almost no flash and only some ejector pin marks to deal with. These were mostly under the side and front fenders.

@Konigwolf13-buddy of mine got the idea stuck in my head.And after hearing the comment “…too many rednecks with guns…” in reference to Red Dawn and why the communist armies got stopped at the Red River,and being from Oklahoma,it was a natural choice for ideas.
I believe mine is individual links as well.I like them so much more than rubber band tracks.And thank you for posting your build.
