Has anybody built the “C”? I laid out the bucks to buy their 1/24 P51 and was not very excited by what I found in the box for the money. I’d really like to buy the Swedish S but hesitate because of the P51.
Does anybody know? [:D]

By all accounts, both models released by Trumpeter are very good. There’s a great review in the French mag SteelMasters Issue 56. The C variant, with the splinter kind of camo looks great when completed! I’m gonna get one of them soon.
I don’t have the “C” version, but I have built the earlier “B” variant and was very pleased with the kit. It looks good OOTB, but most kits could use help from a p/e set with some of the finer details. A word of caution though, the tracks fit very snugly to the wheels and there isn’t much room between the top run of tracks and the underside of the upper hull.
just a litle off subject but does anyone know of a 1/72 or oo/ho scale kit of this tank…thanks in advance…Greg
Have you tried Roco…? Would have thought this to be in their kind of stuff…
If not, Cromwell used to have one in its catalogue (1/76)
Cheers DJ…Greg
I bought the “C” and am going to make it after a few other projects get done. I plan on putting an interior and ‘fence’ on front, which is used to defeat shaped charges. I have some photographing and measuring to do before I get into the project though. The kit looks good from just taking a glance at it in the box.
I’m always amazed at how BIG an S tank really is. In the photos it looks like a sports car, but in real life… WOW.
Patton Museum has one operational.
I’d like to see that completed, Poniatowski…!
I’m also looking for a 1/72 scale S-tank kit…I just love that low profile look.
Of course, there was a great article on scratchbuilding the S-Tank in 1/35 (FSM 10/88), but I don’t think I’m quite ready for that yet… then again, all I’ve got to lose is a little styrene (and a lot of sleep until I get it right, no doubt !)
obviously the patton museum doesn’t have theirs on display, because I was just there in April, and I didn’t see it. unless I missed it…?
The Patton “S” tank is in their sheds, along with some other modern armor. I’ve been told they are trying to raise enough money to build a bigger museum to display their complete collection. Apparently they want to double the size of their present museum. I certainly hope it happens soon.
A friend of mine has that kit and he likes it alot.
Ive been thinking about getting one but havent done it yet.
DOUBLE the size of the Patton museum!!! now it will take two weeks to go through it (LOL). Now that you mention it, I do remember seeing something about that when I was there. hope it happens soon. we will probably be getting down to that area of the states about once every year now (maybe 2 years) Now only if they would let you in the tanks… yeah, yeah, I know I’m dreaming.
Poniatowski,
I just got the C from Trumpeter and I was quite impressed by the quality of the molding. I too want to create the ‘fence’ and I do have a little article in Tankette describing it, along with a handful of pics. If you are interested, let me know.

I also have the kit. I too, like it. Detail isn’t up to Tamiya standards, but still a very good kit. Instructions are clear, parts are mostly free of flash.
Been happy with what I paid for it (about 1/3 the cost of a Tamiya kit)
I just odered that kit, I have heard good things about it. When I get it, it will probably go into “the pile”. The pile is contagious!
I really feel you AttackDonut, sometimes it seem to be a conspiracy to build up Tamiya and tear down everybody else.
