Trumpeter SA-2 missile w/transporter

Anybody build this kit? If so, what were your impressions of it?

I have not bulit this before, but you can go to this site to see the instruction sheet:
http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/plamo/index_e.asp?Bno=&Typ1_c=102

On left simpily scroll down to 'Import Items" section near bottom, and click 'Military". A list of non-Japanese made models will be shown on your right. Then go to page 2. Click the Trumpeter SAM 2 with carrier pic(there are Chinese and Iraqi version), you will find instruction sheet of it.

Base on the instruction diagram, I say it is extremly detail. Don’t know about fitting though.

I have two friends that have built them and they are very pleased with the quality of the kit.
I do plan on getting one of them myself soon.

I started this kit. It is a challange. Everything is there. The motor is highly detailed and is a project alone. The cab details are small and hard to work with. The front axle is suppose to work. good luck. be carefull with the transmission, If it is not alligned right the rear wheels will not be straight. The axles are held in place with small Bolts just like the real thing. Lots of small peices, If you don’t own a set of magnifier goggles this is a good time to get a set. Its a great kit, but not for rooks. I needed a break from this kit. but plan to start again soon.[2c]

I built the SA-2 with launcher and really liked it. MMIR #35 has an article about the transporter version. I have read on missing-lynx.com that the paint scheme offered by Trumpeter isn’t accurate, but is instead a copy of what a very good modeler made up a few years ago while building the Azimut SA-2.
