Trumpeter needs to release their Karl kits seperately (without the railroad carriers) STAT!!!

I’m serious! Trump can earn some good money if they release their Two Karls seperately without the railroad carriers (Just the guns themselves) for a lesser price!

I got the initial version but also wanted the production variant but the thing is. I don’t want to pay the same price again for the production version with the railroad carriers because I think one set of carriers is enough! I can display one with the railroad carriers and the other in firing mode with a separet crew figs. And no! I’m not buying the DRagon one. The details on the Dragon version pisses me off! WTF?!?!? No inside details on the gun carriage? The Dragon version is waste of money IMO! So Trump, pleas release your karls as seperate versions without the rail carriers! I meab, it would be easy! All you need is take out the railroad carrier parts and then repackage the Karls in a smaller box. That’s it. It would make us who want both version a lot easier!

For these and other similar big kits, Trumpeter seems to follow the “more is more” approach.[(-D]. I went with the DML Loki precisely because I didn’t want all the extras like the rail transporter and the Trumpeter kit was substantially more expensive than the DML, so I guess it’s a matter of “pick your poison” and what kind of kit/display you’re looking for. I wouldn’t call the DML kit a waste of money…it builds up very nicely and doesn’t present the “fiddly” nature that many of the Trumpeter assemblies have.My Loki sits in a display case and not in a diorama and while the Trumpeter kit is more detailed/accurate than the DML kit, that always comes at a price…and, in this particular case, Trumpeter chose the economy of scale of including the Rail Transporter pieces because I would assume they figure that if someone’s going to pay the higher price for the detail vs. the DML, they might as well get as much bang for the buck out of those relatively small number of purchases up front instead of trying to encourage duplicate buying. All in the marketing. If they released the Karl without the transporters would they get more sales? Maybe, but it all it would do is leave them with a bunch of unpackaged transporter sprues/pieces from the molding runs without a kit to sell them in and put them in head-to-head competition with the prices on the DML stand-alone… [;)]

The carrier pieces are the main reason I bought the Trumpeter kit. After working on this kit Istill plan on buying another. The one I have now will go with the rail carrier and when I buy the next one it will not have it. I think they are well worth the cost but then I got the first one off E-Bay cheap!

Me too. I wanted to use this a a centerpiece of a dio, and the carriers were the crucial component.

I finished both carriers now (not painted yet) and both are NICE!!! Trump really paid attention to details and both are mini kits in themselves. There are a few places where you gotta really watch out for but assemblying is easy and there arn’t alot of pit falls. It took me only 5 days to finish both since there isn’t alot of fit problems. Yes, it does have a lot of small parts but everything goes real smooth and the fit is excellent, this cut down on the time for assembly.
