Is it true, or not?
If so what is the scale, since I believe it would be 1/72 while a friend thinks 1/48.
Hopefully not 1/32 or1/24 it would be huge…
How easy would it be to find the Revell Condor does it worth it?..
thanks
I think it is in 1/48. Although I am not sure. Don’t quote me.
Hey thyamis;
from the last couple of issues of FSM they shown it to be 1/48 scale, and the FSM’s yearly releases states it’s to be 1/48 scale so if your into 1/48 scale German WWII Luftwaffe planes your in luck I know PIXILATOR will be the first on the block to get into the current inventory
Trumpeter have announced this as a 1/48 FW-200 C4 Condor (kit number 02814). They sure make us wait though.[:(]
The Trumpeter 1/48 offering is all well and good but if you really want to build a fully detailed Condor there is no substitute for the Koster Kit. You can make vitually any version Condor C2 through C8 from that kit. It includes alternate gondolas, dorsal turrets and outboard engine nacelles.
And it only takes about four months to put together.
Hey swanny what scale and how much does that Koster kit run.
That is 1/48 scale and priced at $89.95 from http://www.greatmodels.com or you could save a few bucks and order it direct from Bill Koster at wkoster2@comcast.net. You can find all the pertinent reviews on my site under the Axis aircraft tab and no, I do not get a kickback from Bill [:D]
It could be a little monster in size then. I know that Koster makes some really nice models but to be honest having never worked a vac model before I would be scared to desecrate this one as a first try…Unless it is not as difficult as I am biased to believe.
[tired old pun] Vacs suck! [/pun]
So the Koster is the same size as the Trumpeter, and only costs 2 or 3 times more, and is a whole lot harder to build. What a great deal!! [;)][:D]
This is why my Koster Do-217 is still untouched in its box while my ProModeler one is finished. [:)]
While it is a monster of an airplane it is a nice build. It was my first full vac build and it was a little scary starting out but I took it one piece at a time and it went together very nicely. Look at my site - there is a very complete build review there covering every aspect of the kit and every little problem that I ran into and how I dealt with it. See below it is hanging with a 1/48 B-17E and a 1/48 PB4Y-1, about the same size really. Now if you want difficult try one of MPMs vac kit - boy those will drive you to drink.
Hey John, take a look inside that Trumpeter kit when it comes out and compare it to the Koster - no comparision! I feel that I got my moneys worth from the Koster kit and will be taking on his Do-217M next.
