Hi All, I’m finishing this great model and have heard nightmares on gluing the vinyl supplied sand hoses, and that C/A may not work. They are nicley molded in scale and I would prefer to use the kit supplied hoses rather than scratch build them.
Any tips on this from anyone that has built this kit. One side in particular looks like it will be quite difficult.

They are a challenge for sure. They don’t respond to normal plastic glues at all and because the contact surfaces are so small, CA has a tough time gripping on and not shearing. If possible, try drilling small holes where they connect into the sand dome and using CA gel so it’s got some depth/strength and work from there.
Thanks for the response…one thing I am going to do is use brass strip cut to scale and C/A’d as the connectors to the boiler body, which should hold them to those points…connecting to the dome as you say, is the real problem.
