Trumpeter 1/72 F-100c

Guys, here it is completed.

Trumpeter 1/72 F-100c, out the box. I just added tape seat belts and dropped the stabs like in most pix of the HUN I have seen

Alclad airframe alluminium. Alclad semi matt clearcoat over all.

An enjoyable kit, good detail and fit.

Not sure about the Sqn or “driver” of this plane, the box does not say.

I tried the heat stains, but they are a little on the “light” side

Interesting size comparason between the F-86 and the HUN

Thanx

Beautiful. Really clean.

I’m with you on the discoloration- no need to “follow the pack”.

Beautiful work and an impressive job with the aluminum finish.
All that is needed in the line-up is a Saberliner.

As for pure looks the 86 takes it hands down!

Beautiful work. I love it.

Sweet build!

Great job, Theuns!

Don’t want to be a Debbie Downer, but Trumpeter left out even more color on Col. Laven’s commander’s bird. The speed brake, instrument boom, drop tanks, and even the little front door to the nose gear had the mult-colored stripes. If you have a second kit, you might be able to cut up the spare decal to help with the boom and brake, but you may have to get artful to get the stripes to wrap around the tanks. Also note the fins on the tanks are colored as well. This is my 20-year-old conversion of the old (but still decent) Esci Hun. I chopped the tail in height and width, then cut away and rescribed the extra flap areas on the wings, and added the leading-edge slats. I used the ancient SuperScale decals, but they didn’t include the wing and stab tips, so I used strips of solid-color decal for them. If you have that sheet and the Trumpeter sheet, you’ll have “almost” everything you need.

those are both beautiful models

Mr Boyer, I remember when you wrote the article on the conversion of your Hun and after two decades she’s still just as pretty

Awesome work, Theuns!!

sweet builds. always like size comparison pics like this. i built a 1/35 SAM-2 which was fun but i didn’t realize how big it was until i parked an IDF SHO’T KAL centurion next to it.
