Don’t think it’s the box art, just a pic supplied by Trumpeter.

How big a kit is this going to be?

James [:)]

What did we say Frank…18" for the body alone?

COOL! Thats the same image they used at a Model show in Chicago almost two years ago.

Man I can’t wait!

Fluke! I was wondering where you were. I know you have been looking forward to this one.

18" - Now that’s going to be a whopper for sure!

James [:)]

[tup][:D]WOO HOOOOO[:D][tup]

About time we started seeing something from them, aye? You’d have thought they could have dug up a better picture of an “A” model than that though, wouldn’t you? But it’s not the picture that matters.[;)][}:)][:p][:D]

Hey Troy… long see no time!! [:)] Yes, the fuselage is somewhere in the neighborhood of 18" or 19"… I figured it was almost as long as the 1/570th Titanic… hang the blades on it, and it’ll be closing in on 3ft! [:0] LOTS of room for detailing in that much space, yikes!! [X-)]

Thanks for the heads-up, James! With as many people as we have posted on watch for this thing, it won’t surprise us when she calls Approach Control, inbound! [;)]

Take care,
Frank

I know I shouldn’t, but I’m getting excited for this kit to hit the shelves. It may be the one that makes me break my self-imposed ban on new kit purchases. And it would be worth it!

I’m still here…I lurk around once in a while.

I scored a 4 ch radio controled Helicopter a few weeks ago and I’m still learning on just hovering! EEGAHDS!!! I love tgis thing! Its a 250.00 helo here but I got mine from China through eBay for 100.00 WITH shipping!

You gotta try this! and! I just learned that I can get this really swell body shell for it!!

…and YEP! you do control the pitch on the smaller paddles and the RPM of the rear rotor!

Yup, had a big time. The wife’s home town is just right of center in the
middle of NOwhere China. Nothing but rice paddies and a staggering
number of people with black hair!
I’ll try to give Trumpeter a call tomorrow, or at least this week and
get the update on the Chinook.

Thanks!
Kyle

Pretty cool huh?

Finally, an update!!! Its getting closer to the release date and I’m getting more excited every day!!! Thanks for the news!!

Fellow Hook Fans,

That picture from Trumpeter is of Chinook #61-02408, which is currently located at the California National Guard Aviation Museum near San Luis Obispo, CA. It’s one of the last remaining examples of a dual tail wheel “A” model.

So… what are the chances that Trumpeter will be producing their 1/35 with “duallies”?

Wet Willy

Who knows?

I don’t care…I just want my 1/35 HOOK!

now now now now now now now now!!!

Right you are Willy… [:)]… it is one of only two duelys that still exist…

… the other being #60-03451, at the Army Aviation Museum at Mother Rucker. #451 was the 10th production model off the line, and once thought to be the oldest intact airframe…

But, the oldest existing Chinook is now known to be YCH-47A #59-4984 (3rd of the “Y” Models.), which is currently in line to be restored at Ft. Eustis, Virginia. Being a test aircraft, it was the first Chinook fitted with the single aft wheels and fuselage strakes in 1964.

These old girls go waaaaaay back.

Take care,
Frank

Hi gang!!

Just checking to see if any of you have heared anything at all new on the Trump Chinooks. Info should be coming out soon on them because we’re just 3 months away from Sept.

Marke, Marke, Marke…

sigh…what are we gonna do…

It’ obvious that the meds are not working anymore…[:p]

hmmmm…anyone??

[:D][;)]

Papa-Echo-64,
I was refraining, yet chomping at the bit to respond to this one all day. I was restraining myself, but you took the first stab. It is only May, time will come. Hopefully it will be on time. Wouldn’t be the first time a model doesn’t appear when announced though.

Marke, remember your calming exercises…

Deep breath, September will come, Deep breath, September will come, Deep breath, September will come, Deep breath, September will come, … [:-,][:-,][:-,][:-,]

Hey Marke,

You just keep on posting, meds or no meds, as it always spawns me into another search! [;)] Have you began doctoring the Aurora Chinook back yet? Looking forward to seeing it, and there’s plenty enough to keep you occupied until the biggy shows up. In fact, the Trumpeter will probably seem like childs play after the Aurora!! [:D]

Take care buddy, and thanks for keeping us on our toes! [;)] [:)]

Frank

I’m not getting my hopes up anymore!!! [:P] Or any LESS for that matter.
I just try not to think about it and work on the current project and put together some 7.62x51s for my M1A and 6mm Remingtons for my Ruger M77 Varmint rifle.
HURRY UP TRUMPETER!!! I’ve loaded 4,500 rounds so far and I’m gonna have to order more powder!!!

Just for today emagin I weigh about 140 pounds with a tie die shirt and glasses.

OK friends…lets channel our energies and thoughts and everyone chant with me…

Trumpeter Chinook…Trumpeter Chinook…Trumpeter Chinook

Take a deep breath and relax…ok you can eat your bran muffin now. [:p]

I don’t need no STINKING BRAN!!! I need a CHINOOK!!!

LOL!! [:p]

Hi Frank.
I’ve been tinkering with it off and on for the past few weeks.
The cockpit is what I’ve been working on mostly.
I want to start on the cargo section but I’m out of sheet styrean so, I’m ordering more soon. II’m using the resin engines and rotor heads from that vac form kit I have.
They work perfict. Have you started on that Super Jolly yet??? Can’t wait to see to see it finished.
