Trumpeter 1/32 MiG 21 F-13 Completed

I started this kit for our MOY in December.

The detail out the box is very nice, here is the tub

The seat will have the paracute harnass on it, otherwize it is a little to bare.

It is an early 21 so it will not have the “hurt your eyes green” but the light bleu /grey colours.

Tub in the blue /grey before they went for the blue green

Not bad detail out the box

Theuns

Wow that looks great

Looks great.

This kit has really nce detail but some rather odd features. The avionics bay has not front or rear bulckheads to blank off the gaping holes eithe end of the bay floor. It also has a nice metal intake cone, fully detailed engine but no intake trunking…

I saw anlther build of this kit and the guy had a resin after market insert for the vertical stab that features nice hydrolic and electrical points.

Not having ANY budget for Am bling I had to make my own, not as cool as resin but I do what I can with what I have

I am installing all the bits in the fuse and even here it is confusing as there is allot of forward/rearward play in the locator seats for the cockpit, avionics bay ect so I need to be slow and methodical in doing this.

Theuns

Looking awesome as always!

Looks really good so far - can’t wait for the next installment!

Here is the latest.

Fantastic work as always. Looking forward to more.

Your friend, Toshi

Thanx Mr T

I got the alclad black on, not as glossy as the enamel I usually use but I am not going for a super high shine.

The heat stain area of the rear fuse is pale burnt and burnt iron alclad.

A few coats of airframe allu alclad went on , I will mask the dark pannels and put more airframe allu on to make the rest of the pannels lighter. This way the difference between the pannels is not as hard.

Pin wash looks excellent, so does the weathering.

Your friend, Toshi

Thanx

I got the decals on, they are a huge letdown with this kit.

They are out of register, I had to cut the stars out from the paper. The stencling looks OK, but then they are so small it doesnt matter.

Theuns

decals on, satin clearcoat on. Now the fiddly bits need to go on.

Yeah, that Mig is looking great. The tonal variations in the NMF provide an outstanding realism.
