Trumpeter 1/32 A10-A

Here’s the Trumpeter A10-A Thunderbolt, AKA The Warthog (because of all the bumps over it’s surface). My favourite plane, I had to have a go at the big beast Trumpeter make. It’s 1/32 scale, comes with metal parts, clear plastic parts and resin parts. It’s made so you can expose certain areas but I went for a normal build before my sanity wore out. It was a real labour making this. Mostly because the box and parts took up nearly the whole extended dining table, and I found it quite a hassle to work on something this big, something I did’nt forsee when I started it months ago. When finished though and hung on the wall (yes, that’s where I put planes-I dont understand people who hang them from the ceiling so you only see the underneath) it does look an impressive monster. Problems along the way: The decals- I had to put them on, watch them break up, and then paint the remainder in. Weight-I put quite a bit of weight in the nose but it still was tail heavy, which led to some breakages and fixings. Painting: My normal spray booth was really small and only just accomadated this beast, and it ate the paint up like nobody’s business!

Nice job on the big beast. Thanks for sharing.
