Trumpeter 1/32 A-6E Intruder (pix)

This month’s Model Graphix is a Trumpeter special, and one of the kits shown being developed is a great big 1/32 A-6E Intruder! The pix show the wooden prototype model being sculpted (carved?) by the Trumpeter artisans, and some tests shots of the plastic fuselage halves.

Has this kit been announced? I can’t recall. No release date info was given in the article, but the picture was classified as a “scoop!”

Just thought ya’ll would like to know!

Here’s a coupla pix:

The article shows some pix of a 1/35 CH-47 Chinook, too (go to the helo forum for those pix!).

you better not be trying to play a trick on us Brian because its another 3 months till April Fools day. Maybe they are going to spring this on us next month because People will definitely want a big intruder to go along with a F-14 and a F-4 in a 1/32 carrier Diorama.
Mike

Pretty cool news, that’s for sure. I’m looking forward more to the Chinook, 1/32 is just too big for my limited space. It’ll be cool to see someone build it, though.

I’d really just LOVE to know. How many people have contemplated scratchbuilding a 1/32nd scale carrier? One would need a 2 1/2 car garage just for the Island! Brian, I think you just started a real free-for-all!! - Calvin

Oh dear, where’s it going to go!
With a bit of luck - an F8 after that.
As far as the chinook goes, I think a 48th scale kit would have served them better, 35th is just too impractical.

Dang! That’s going to one big model airplane and probably cost as much as a new VW Beetle.

Well, there’s a 1/10 Yamato being built in Kure! I’m going to see it at the end of April.
It’s at the Yamato Museum (they have the cash and the space!).

I added some pix of the 1/32 A-6E for ya’ll up in the original post.
Enjoy!

Started on one, but I couldn’t convince the cityofficials to tear down the rest of the street [:D]

Hadn’t seen any announcement of this kit. Trumpeter is sure entering some untested waters.

Regards, Rick

Trumpeter is going to release soon 1/32 A-7E Corsair too…Great news…thanks

dang well I do have a 1/32 scale Apache Helecopter so the 1/35 scale Chinook wouldnt be too bad I believe its about as long as a Blackhawk.

I would love to have that baby- especially if it is done in the really nice way that the SU-27 was. I’d pre-order mine now if I could!

All those new 1/32 and 1/35 kits are just too big for my bench, wallet and my storage area.

Agreed a 1/48 chinook would be nice.

SWEEEEEEEEEEET!!! Anybody wanna buy a kidney?

Wow! Now if they would just do a 1/32 E2-C Hawkeye. Even though the navy models in 1/32 are huge they all have folding wings so the will fit better on a shelf like the Avenger and Corsair they just did. I cant wait for the 1/32 F-100 and the Me-262 they just announsed. Any one herd on thier releases?

Weeeeellllll. Continuing in the Navy tradition, we could have a 1/32 A-3 Whale, aka Skywarrior, or 1/32 Vigi. Golden Dragon has or is putting out a 1/32 B-58. I guess the 1/32 B-52 and/or B-36 would go well with the Hustler. All I have to do is go out to my local air base and rent one of their hangars. I work in the trucking industry, so I could probably find someone with a flat bed 18 wheeler semi to transport these things. The only thing I have to do first is win the lottery tonight to pay for it all. ($13 million in Illinois tonight) [alien]

I do seem to recall a mention of this before, but I seem to be the only one. Either way, the A-6 is a very sweet plane, and I’m happy about the release of this kit. Now c’mon J-Hulk, there must have been something in that special about some armor [:)]

cool, i could do the Flight of the intruder crash scene

Sadly, no armor scoops from the article!

But there was ONE picture where you could see a lot of Sherman reference books open on a desk…hmmm…

Wonder when this is coming out?
