I was given this kit for my b-day, depicted on the boxtop is the fighter bomber version. Are the two Trumpeter kits the same?, because the one i got has two extra guns and an extra four gun nose, as well as a two gun nose[%-)]
One kit is a 262 A2-a and an A1-a the reason is they use the same molds for certin parts i build the a1-a and it came with both four hole gun and two hole. Iam gona guess you have the 262 A-2a kit.
Yep that’s the one, the BIG question is, are the gun platforms the same for both kit’s[?]
That i dont know ive only built the one version and it only came with the one platform.
All i really want to know is, where do the inner two gun’s mount to, i suspect they mount to the rear gunbay bulk head some where but the instruction’s only show the attachment point’s for the outer two gun’s which are on the gun platform.
E-mail sent let me know.

Hi, Jeebus,
Trumpeter make two 1/32 Me.262s, a Me.262 A-1a fighter, and a Me.262 B-2a fighter-bomber. The two kits share sprues, but the A-2a has an extra sprue with bombs and pylons. Strangely, the A-1a doesn’t appear to have the option of drop tanks, which were often fitted, early turbojets being very thirsty animals. The A-2a only carried two cannon, so that the weight of the guns and ammo could be allocated to the bombs.
As you note, the A-2a includes all four machine cannon, and also has the ammo feeds for the inner pair of guns (parts D17,18) and the four-gun nose panel (part C8). The gun bay base, part 42, is the same on both kits. Check out the sprue arrangements of the A-1a here:

Looking at the instructions and parts for the A-2a, I can’t quite see where the inner pair of guns would mount, but I suspect that if you used the ammo feeds to locate the guns, that would show you the correct position. There’s a photo in this review:
http://modelingmadness.com/reviews/axis/cleaver/cleaver262.htm
which shows the arrangement.
You could, therefore, make an A-1a from this kit, but you’d need alternative decals. Fortunately, he Trumpeter 1/32 Me.262 has, deservedly, proved very popular, so aftermarket decals are plentiful.
Cheers,
Chris.
Thanx load’s m8 this is exactly the info i needed, and as i suspected, the two inner gun’s are mounted on the rear bulkhead, i just wanted to be sure before i dive headlong into the building of this beauty.[yeah][tup]
