Does anyone have experience with True Details products? I’m looking at what seems to be a new photo etch set from them that’s designed for the 1/48 scale A-26C. I don’t have any experience with True Details other than their resin products, which seem to be pretty good.
Hey Strike,
I’m familuar w/ True Details after maket sets. The only PE that I have come across by these guys are accessories for the seats and the like.
Anywho you just have to be extra careful with these parts. Off the top of my head I cant think of the company that made these but they have snippers that are made specially for such parts. Believe me they work very well.
BTW,True Details has come out w/ a set for the A-26?? By chance could you be thinking of Edwaurds photo etched?
Flaps up, Mike
Hey BUTZ.
It could very well be a TRUE DETAILS pe set. It’s been around for a few years.
I bought one when the Monogram kit first came out. They also did one for the Monogram A-37.
They are good sets but like any other pe set, you have to go slow and watch your bends.
TD made a buncha brass, but it’s mostly out of production now. It was really soft on detail compared to other stuff and I made the mistake of grabbing a bunch sight-unseen.
And Mike, besides the A-26 & A-37, they made sets for the P-61, Typhoon, Bf 109, Me 262 and P-40 as well as others including all those god-awful seatbelts. Heck, they made a set for the P-39; you of ALL people shoulda known that! Get with the program, dude![;)][:p]
Hey Steve & ALL,
What was I thinking, when I posted I had worked very hard that night at the border[banghead].
Okay, I go sit in box for 5 minutes. Then think to myself, self what was I thinking then I go free.
Cant believe it, I have a few sets for the P-39 and one for the A-37 Silly me[:p].
Flaps up, Mike
So, it sounds like the TD sets aren’t all that great? What caught my attention was the fact that they seem to have some detail for both the gunner’s compartment, and the interior of the glass nose.
hi guys,[:)]
i just got a true details “fast frames” canopy mask type thingy[:p]…anyone ever use these??
many thanks for your help as always.
regards,
nick
Hey Multi media, I loved Slap Shot!!! On the subject of the PE, I use small surgical scissors to seperate the parts from the carrier. Works well for me as long as I don’t drop it!!!
Ah good, at least I got one bite there. Still, I’m a little dissapointed. Welcome to the forum Riceball. One thing, if you look to the left side where you saw it say multimedia, right above it is my username. Multimedia is a forum rank based on your total number of posts, like right now, yours says Box-stock. It’ll change after a bit.
