Maybe just speculation here and maybe not, but I’m sure ya’ll remember the four course meal posted here a while back, if not, check here for a refresher.
After closely examining the pictures on both sites and comparing the chipping and base colors used, I’m thinking this might be our not so dear 'ol friend.
Here’s a quote fom the page, “The trailer will wait for the others for final touch ups, to obtain some uniformities”.
So, the chipping is slightly different but that is something that could be changed as the work progressed. Really, after all, how many of these do you see built?
Anyway, I might be right and I might be wrong, but at the least it’s some eye candy for us.
This is very good work on your part. You will be rewarded by the fatherland.
Take a look at the fact he is a power seller and has a store. What does he sell…Photo Etch kits!!! No wonder he was such a fanatic about PE, details and new kits.
He was not testing kits…he was selling them! Even fooled the Doog!
As far as name, that may only be revealed if you buy something from him and you see the return address. I think I will go and block him from my search listings.
More often than not, a troll gains his strength from his anonymity. He is empowered through the safety of the internet and the ability to harrass without anyone knowing who he really is. Once the curtain is pulled back they often just go away, embarrassed by the fact that the people he was once harrassing now know who he is. They are often upstanding members on one website as well as an anonymous troll on a competing site. When their cover is blown, they suffer the ire of members of both communities and often leave for good.
Thought you guys nailed this sucker quite a while ago—evervigilant[8D]–still don’t get how you figured it out, but half the time I can’t figure out where i left my workboots.—tread[8D]
I had a Whiskey Tango Foxtrot thought. IF he only had something I could use…
As far as Rob’s comment, I agree but it would be hard to cause him problems on evilbay. Now, if he was on another forum…
Then again…as I continued to think…there is peace and tranquillity here in the FSM armor family once again. We need to be vigilant as we never know when…
…will return…or one of his relitives
They are like roaches, we need to have a “troll motel”…trolls go in and FSM never lets them back!! We should not ever let it get to where it was with “he who will not be named”. As we have stuck together in the past we need to go forward in the future.
Now I digress back to modeling. Thanks DM…it teaches us all to keep our eyes open.
I guess I just don’t understand the objective of finding out a trolls real name. What’s to stop him from resubscribing to FSM under a different name? Couldn’t he just get better at hiding is true identity as time goes on? I just choose to ignore people like that. I do it all day long in real life so it’s not too hard on the forum [:D]. Plus, I don’t see the point of having some type of vendetta against the guy. I don’t think he will change.
I can’t even believe that there is a thread started about this…you’d think you all had enough drama in his old threads, which were pages and pages of ranting and raving on how this guys’ attitude was blah blah blah…geez, just let it go already.
I fail to see what all of the fuss is about. He built a model, and is attempting to sell it…so what?
I sell most of my kits after doing a review, does that make me a troll? No. I don’t advertise them for sale here or on other forums, unless the money goes directly to that particular site and with the permission of the site owner.
Did he advertise his stuff here ? That would be unethical, but not “trolling”.
It is too bad that he doesn’t show any build up for reference. Personally, I think the build is way over-weathered, but I know some people love that stuff.
This particular person used to post here under the name “Satori” and was eventually banned for his behavior here. The “troll” label applies because of that behavior, not because he posted his work for sale on e-bay. Absolutely nothing wrong with selling or doing commission work and definitely not “troll” behavior. [;)]
