Trivia Series #8, Question #10

This aircraft was a two-seat light aircraft with a dual-control, ‘side-by-side’ cockpit configuration developed as a collaboration between an aircraft manufacturer and a racing driver turned pilot. It was designed to provide a more comfortable and social experience in a low-powered and economical aircraft suitable for general aviation. A total of 50 of these aircraft were built in two years of production, in two models; a single prototype of a third model crashed, killing the test pilot and no more were built. At the outbreak of World War II, the military impressed about half of the aircraft for communications use. It was also used in early cloud seeding and crop dusting.
