This aircraft was a large, propeller-driven, long-range, high capacity transport. Only two of the planes were ever built, both prototypes, the first was built in the summer of 1946, the second in summer , 1948. The aircraft would be fully pressurized and large enough so that most major components could be accessed and possibly repaired in flight. This aircraft had an unorthodox design for cabin pressurization, that maximized the efficiency of space and provided an upper passenger deck and lower cargo deck.
The aircraft had operational difficulties which prevented it from meeting its original design objectives. The engines did not offer the power needed and had cooling problems. Both prototypes were operated into the 1950s, and both were retired 1953 and susequently scrapped.
