this might be an easy question but here it goes. this was the first aircraft ever to make a fly by wire flight name the aircraft and to make it alittle harder what branch of the fedeal government flew it?
F-16,flew by the Air Force
My guess would be the NASA F-8 Digital Fly-By-Wire aircraft at Dryden/Edwards in 1972.

How about a modified F9F Panther in 1954, by NASA at Langley?
A link here mentions it, although it wasn’t a full fly by wire system, it was installed on a test aircraft.
