It was purchased to meet a specification for an aircraft suitable for forestry survey and fire protection control work.The aircraft was of a conventional single engine design, with the hull constructed of cedar planking over laminated elm frames.The whole tail was made of steel tubing. 44 of these general Recon and Patrol aircraft were built.
