This aircraft was capable of maintaining speeds of Mach 2. It was in service 10 years but never saw combat.Cost was an issue throughout its service and it was very expensive to operate.The airframe that gave it it,s speed, also limited it,s size and therefore it,s range and wepons carrying ability.By the time it became operational S.A.M tecnology progressed considerably which no longer guranteed it,s safety.
