ok, i have a glue question…i bought this triple conversion kit from falcon( P2V-5, TF-86F, TBM-3W), its really thin styrene, What do i use to glue this stuff??? I dont want to screw it up, i had to order it from New Zeland, and it took a week to get here. Any help would be greatly apreciated.
Reinforce the edges on the inside with styrene and you can use pro-weld or tenax. Try it out on scrap first but these should work well if you don’t over do it. You can use super glue also it usually does not react with the plastic.
Which conversion are you doing?
I also have that one but am currently working on their TA-7C triple conversion but any thoughts on yours would be helpful.
I bought the conversion for the P2V-5 stuff. It is to convert the revell of germany P2V-7. I dont know what im gonna do with the other two yet, probubly stick em in the closet untill i find a kit for them. If you decide to do the P2 conversion, research the plane, the info they give you in the instructions is incorrect. The fusalage pieces are for an older version P2V-2 but the canopy and tip tanks are correct for the P2V-5 version. Other than the info beeing a little off, the product is great. I am currently using some of the 1/48 B-17 stuff and like what they make, the quality has been good.
Thanks Jim,
I like these also. They provide a decent alternative to the much more expensive resin conversions (if the even exist) and despite some errors I think will build up as decent models.
