Trimaster Me 262A-1a Nachtjager finished

After many hours adding the hydraulic lines to the landing gear and assembling the nose antennas from brass tube & wire, I finished the Trimaster Me 262A-1a Nachtjager today. I also spent time adding the little bits to the canopy & release handle/cable, manual start rings to the engine intakes, and the antennas. I made the ribbons on the tail by cutting thin strips of white tape. My first few ideas (thread, fishing line, etc.) didn’t pan out well. When I come up with an alternative (probably paint), the tape will be peeled off easily.

So here she is, my second Lady of the Evening from my “Fly by Night” project.

Two down, one to go ! Thanks for letting me share the builds with you !

A definite winner Pix. I like the tips of the barrels juuuust peaking out of the gun recesses in the nose. What are those ribbons for exactly? A wind direction indicator or something maybe, I’m just not sure. This is a fine looking bird, I’m looking forward to seeing the rest of them.

Oh my god!.. that’s really awesome… I like these details… What scale is that?..

Marvelous work Pix. The antenna are the best I’ve seen. Thanks for sharing.

Regards, Rick

Very nice, is it true that you can’t get a Trimaster kit without giving up the bank these days?

Super groovy Pix…

Fade to Black…

Man I always love your kits pix. Always winners no xception here. Vry nice detail. What r u building next?[?]

Another stunner from the Pix workshop[:O]

Fantastic build mate[tup][tup][tup]

what do you wanna trade for your detailing skills?

Thanks maddafinga, zeroenna, Rick, crockett, Steve-O, ygmodeler, tweety, and jinithith2 !

maddafinga - this was a test aircraft (hence the “V” number). The radar antlers were added to the nose, and the white ribbons on the black tail would indicate airflow during flight. The radar was not operational, they just wanted to see it’s effects aerodynamically. I finished the first in the series, ProModeler’s 1/48 Ta 154. You can see it here: http://www.finescale.com/fsm/community/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=40980

zeroenna - it’s the only scale I build - 1/48. 1/72 is too difficult for me to see, 1/32 is too easy, but 1/48 is just right.

crockett - I bought eight Trimaster Me 262s for $30 each, and two Fw 190D-9s for $40 apiece. The only one that costs an arm & a leg is the Ta 152. But I’ve got a couple DMLs.

ygmodeler - my 1/48 Dragon Me 262B-1a/U1 two-seat nightfighter is almost complete (Monday or Tuesday). I’m not sure what will follow these.

jinithith2 - I already traded my time for them. Time is non-refundable and non-transferrable. I’m afraid that we all have to pay, in our own way. I’m always here to explain how I do things, feel free to ask.

Thanks again !

Great Job Pix! Keep them a coming.

A stunning little bird, thanks for the great pics…

That looks really great, especially the landing gear bays. Thanks for sharing.

WOO! Pretty!
Nice job.

Absolutely beautiful, Bill! The detail is amazing. You’ll have to write a “How to” book with pictures and information on all your builds!

Mark

Thanks Jeff, Dave, Matthew, John, and Mark !

Jeff - the two seat Me 262 will be done Monday or Tuesday. I’ll include a pic of the three builds in the project.

Mark - something similar is “in the works,” and I’ll be announcing it later. Just be patient.

Thanks again !

I can’t say anyore than everyone else has. The detail is incredible, especially the antennae and the wheel wells.

Beautiful job on the Nachtjager 262.

Another beautiful build Pix.

That’s incredible, Bill!! What’s next, inscribing life size numerically accurate Data Plates? [;)] [:D] [:)]

Always a privilege to admire your beautiful work, thanks! [:)]

Take care,
Frank
