Trimaster Me 262 cockpit finished

I finished the cockpit on my latest Trimaster Me 262 this evening. The back of the instrument panel, visible through the windscreen, was wired using the shielding from an old audio cable.
I also removed the “glass” from the gunsight (the steel colored square atop the instrument panel), and I’ll replace it with thin clear sheet just before I add the windscreen to the assembled airframe.

The “missing” shoulder harness will be draped out the open canopy.

Thanks for letting me share this latest step on my 262 with you !

Damn, Pix’, that sure looks good. Looks like you could climb right in and strap down for action! Thanks for sharing this fine work with us.

The wiring really adds a lot to the overall feel of the cockpit, Pix!
As always, excellent work!

looks great .will the wires on the side be visible? Jason

pix that looks incredible. thankyou for sharing your outstanding work.

joe

This is going to be one truly excellent kit Pix!! Are you going to enter it into contests later? I think you’d take every one you entered.

Great start so far on the 262 Pix. Cant wait to see more.

SWEET!
I got to hand it to you that sure is a great job if I do say so myself.

Just awesome, Bill, you da man! [:)]

Take care,
Frank

Thanks Texgunner, Nick, Dan, Joe, Karl, Brian, jay, fightnjoe, maddafinga, falcon, charlesw, & Frank !

Since finding this wire, I’m psyched to add it to future builds, wherever it will be seen. It just seems to add so much, and it’s neither difficult nor expensive. It definately improved my patience skills !

jay - the wiring on the outside of the cockpit tub is visible from the wheel wells below. I posted pics a few days ago of the wheel wells. Here’s what they look like.

It won’t be too long before I can button up this baby & start squirtin’ paint. I have a few aftermarket decal sheets, but I haven’t decided which scheme to use. Right now, I’m leaning towards a NMF.

Thanks again !

Bill, the more I look at your build, the more I covet my own, though I could never build it to your standard. It just makes me grieve the two I lost all the more. I want the Trimaster pressing and no other. But I plan to take your tips and add them to my Tamiya -2 when I can finally find some AM decals for it.

Thanks, sharkskin !

maddafinga - I’ve only done one contest. It was an online one last winter. While two of my builds were first places, I won’t do another. I believe that as long as a modeler does their best, it is a winner. To me, it’s like apples and oranges. They’re both different, and different people have their preferences. One is not “better” than other, only different.

sharkskin - Great Models Webstore has this kit in their “Special Sales” category, for under $26. I have a set of decals for an A-2a, if you’re interested. Email me with your adderss. Thanks again !

really excellent work Bill!!! seems you’ve put some “passion” into that build, and its looking great!! later.

That detail work is awesome!!! Museum quality, to be sure. Great job!!

Thanks saltydog & knight !

saltydog - the Me 262 is my favorite aircraft, and Trimaster’s kit is my favorite model of all time, bar none.

knight - I seem to be working towards constructing my own “miniature museum” right here at home. Now if I can only figure out how to make convincing-looking 1/48 velvet ropes . . . (and print my own tiny currency) [(-D]

All the interior stuff is finished, so next week it’s assembly time ! [dinner]

Your standard excellent work Pix. Wouldn’t expect any less from you.[^]
