Here’s something I don’t encounter much…I’m working on the Hotchkiss 39(h) (I think that’s the name, I’m not at home right now) by Trumpeter and the rubberband tracks are HUGE!!!
Or more specifically…WAY tooooooo long, like 1/3 too much tack…it’s silly.
Short of cutting and gluing (and what kind of glue would I use to re-bind tracks, or would I melt them back together?) are there any aftermarket shorter treads around?
Hmm, I haven’t heard of any issues with the track being too long on that kit. Here is a review from PMMS.
If they are though, you can cut them, then reattach them with superglue. Another option is to reattach them with sewing thread in an X pattern. You coul dalso use staples to hold it back together.
i remember for those vinyl tracks on my old old bandai 1/48 kits, i used to throw it in hotwater, n it’d shrink by itself if you don’t stretch it… kind of a risky shot if you ask me nowadays though.
That’s a shame. I contemplated that kit and Bronco’s. Sounds like you have a manufacturers defect. Might try contacting Trumpeters handler.
