Hello all,
I bought the 25 and 10 year DVD collection and installed them on my old lap top.
However, I have bought a new gaming computer, that has no DVD ROM drive.
I have tried copying them onto a external disc and DL to the new computer, but I get a message saying the files cant be read. I have DL Adobe acrobat reader, still no luck.
Anyone know what the correct procedure is (if any) to transfer the files across and be able to open them?
Thanks in advance.
Bill.
You may have to configure the external drive in order to upload onto it.
Once you do that it should download onto the new computer without problem.
ask the internet, referring to your external drive type.
Another option, which I now rely on more, is to use a cloud server.
Or just purchase a USB ROM drive. They’re relatively inexpensive, and you might need it again in future.
If you have access to the original cds and can copy from your notebook to your new machine, look for the .iso file on the cdrom. Copy to your new machine. Windows 8 and 10 have native virtual cdrom mounting (of the .iso file). Otherwise there are free tools available for older versions of the OS. I like virtual clonedrive.
