track sag with vinyl

how do you produce a good track sag with vinyl tracks in 1/72?

You use a needle and thread to pin the tracks to the wheels. It allows you to put some sag between them.

can you explain it a little more clearly?
sorry.
what do you mean by needle and thread?

You can use black thread to tie the tracks to the idler wheel shafts. Or use real fine fishing line. You can also “pin” the tracks down by setting a rod thru the hull, making sure the rod is reinforced in the hull itself. Someone else may be able to explain it better but if you have any problems you can always come in here and ask! - Calvin

are there any softning solutions, so it can get really flexi?

just put some CA glue (super glue) on the top of the road wheels and glue the tracks down. Works every time.

What model are you working on, i may have soem different suggestions for you.

for 1/35 i use piano wire through the tank. never modelled armor in 1/72 so i dont know if it would work. just a suggestion.

I just use CA on the top of the road wheels.

[#ditto] On the CA on the tracks. Works great.

I finished that 1/72 pakwagen a few months ago and really enjoyed it. Examining the tracks before building the kit, I thought the plastic would be too thin and I worried I may damage them during installation. Not to worry, more than enough slack and it turned out well. I got the sag using CA without any problems.
Good luck and enjoy!

For 1/72, the best way would probably be to just glue it down. they’re so small, and don’t provide much tension. The problem with superglue in 1/35 scale, depending on the kit/track, the glue will lift the paint off the wheel, and just won’t hold. I’ve had that happen several times.
