Can anyone offer any help on making hooks for a tow chain in 1/35th?[%-)] I have the chain but I can’t seem to get the hooks to look right no matter what I do[banghead][censored][banghead][censored][banghead] Any help would be great.
Something like a logging chain with hooks… I had one wraped around the bumper of my Hummer for extraction and field expedient road bocks on some of the narow raods we traveled… I tried the streched sprue but it just didn’t llok right… I hope this helps a little more
I wonder if Walthers (model railroading) would have something on hand? Also, if you have access to a fine saw blad of some sort, I use a jeweler’s saw, you could drill the chain hole with a pin vise / drill, then cut the basic shape from thick styrene sheet and file it to shape.
Academy’s Tank Supplies Set II has a couple short lengths of chain with hooks. I cut the hooks off and drilled a small hole in the hook which I put a piece of wire through to make another link, then with that link I attach it to my tow chain.
hope that helps
Hey Tom,
How about trying some fine soldering wire? I used it before and it looks good. Over all its easy to work with. If I’m not mistakin you can check with your local electronics store. Heck I can see if I have any extra laying around and could possibly send it your way if yaw want.

Thans All…
I Will try and get the Acadamy tank supplies kit …
Butz: If the Acadamy Tank supplies doesn’t have what I am looking for I will try the solder thingy…
