Touch-n-Flow, from a modeling re-beginner

Every once in a while you run into something that literrally rewrites your style of modeling. For me this is the Touch-N- Flow system. I am not gifted in modeling and I was getting disenchanted again with the art when I couldnt get rid of those POS seam lines. Thanks to Hawkeye and his sqawkbox, I think Im back in the game. I tried the TNF with plast-i-weld on a SDB Dauntless last night for the first time and the seam lines are …perfect.

I hope you don’t mind Gerald, but I want to direct others to your article on seamlines:

Perfect Seams

I realized early on that you can put down the most perfect paint job on a crappy construct and it will look like a 5 year old put it together. The basics start with the construction , patience in sanding , washing, etc. The application of the plastic weld is simple and precise. Do small parts at a time. The welded plastic eliminates seam lines the first go around, and the whole filling debacle can be mostly avoided. Clean up is simple, mostly the solvent evaporates. Use a respirator or vent box.

For those who aren’t born with the gift of perfect application of CA or Testors cement with no mess written into their genetic code, give this a try.

Thanks, Hawkeye!

On your recommendation I picked this up at my hobby store today. I tried it tonight putting together some small parts. I really liked it. Much more control and beautiful results. Thanks for the post!

Agreed touch and flow is an awesome piece of kit.

Agreed. I’ve also found that infant snot suckers are great for drawing solvent into the tube. Just don’t turn around and use on the baby!

I really need to break mine out for the Panzer IV - armor makes me lazy when it comes to glue.
