I recently read in a monograph on the B-25G that one of the mods made to the type when they were produced from rebuilt C models, was the provision in the bomb bay to carry an aerial torpedo. That sure would be a nice addition to my AcMin B-25G, since I have one of those True Details resin torpedoes laying around unopened, with nothing to do. I wonder what the mount looks like? Does anyone know about this, or where I might find that info, or a picture of one? It’s possible it was never used.
Also, Robert of VMB 613 was kind enough to send me 18 color profiles of PBJ-1’s, all ranging from PBJ-1C’s to a -1H with a Tiny Tim rocket on a centerline mount. Now that’s a rare sight, and I dearly wish it could be modeled from available kits and parts. I have the Tiny Tim in resin, but still, my B-25G will not make itself into a PBJ-1H without starting from scratch almost. Now, after looking over those profiles, I see that the AcMin B-25D can be made into a PBJ-1D. The ventral turret will need to be changed into a retracable radome, but that radome looks exactly like the front half of a WW II 1,000 lb. bomb, sans fuse.
Now I wish I had the earlier model B-25 in addition to my G.
