Top Gear - Middle East Challenge

my latest models from the trio’s UK series. The challenge was to buy a sports convertible, traveling 1,200 miles west to Bethlehem, driving through northern Iraq, Syria and a few other Middle Eastern countries and deliver gold, frankincense and myrrh to a newborn in a manger.

Jeremy chose the Mazda MX-5, James a BMW Z3 and Hammond a Fiat Barchetta.

For this i wanted all cars to be 1/25 scale. The Barchetta was easiest to aquire and the bmw the hardest (ended up buying it from hong kong). Each was built and painted mostly box stock, with only a few alterations to match their 1:1 counterpart. Let me know if you want to see assembly images.

Didn’t one of those have duals on the back for a while?

Wow that’s awesome. I really love their shows especially when they do the challenges. I saw this one on reruns not too long ago and it was supremely funny. You did a great job on these. What an original idea for a modeling subject!

yes, jeremy took them off because, “it didn’t work out too well”
