Mirage III - Eng. title. The Aeronauts, French Title, Les Chevaliers du ciel, (The Knights of the Sky) (1967-69)
Avro Lancaster - The Pathfinders (1972)
Here’s another oddball…
GAF Nomad - The Flying Doctors (another Aussie series)
More recent…
F14 Tomcat - frequently appeared on JAG
F18 Hornet - frequently appeared on Pensacola: Wings of Gold
UH-1 Iroquois - frequently appeared in “Vietnam era” TV series - eg.China Beach, Tour of Duty
Boeing B-52 Stratofortress- Dr. Strangelove & how I learned to stop woring and love the atomic Bomd (i think that was the complete title i may be wrong though)
how about the modified at-6s made up to be japanese zeros in black sheep squadron and don’t forget the varios aircraft that were in the show “call to glory” i can think of several a/c (century series and so forth)
How about the old Stearman that has turned up occassionally. I’ve seen a Stearman in shows such as The Adventures of Lois and Clark and films like Independence day. DC3’s have popped up a lot over the years. Not to mention Spitfires and P40’s.
I wansn’t really thinking about including planes from movies, but since you brought it up…
I’ll put in a plug for Always. Yes, I know, it’s a chick flick, but it does have (I could be wrong here) an A-26, a PBY, and a Cessna 337. Another plus, if your gf/wife is in the mood for a chick flick, this one is watchable. I mean, it has John Goodman so it can be justified.
Bell 47-Whirlybirds
Stearman PT-17 -JAG ( a couple of episodes)
Learjet -(Burke’s Law)
Benson Gyrocopters (Garrison’s Gorillas)
Cessna Bobcat (Sky King’s early episodes)
Several pretty obscure ones on my list; there are others
