hi there fellow modellers. if you’re like me, you’re always lookin’ for small containers to use for various modelling tasks, such as photo film canisters and such. some of you may not be able to take advantage of this little tip, but here goes. i was eating breakfast at a popular resturant chain the other morning called “Cracker Barrell”. a very popular dining facility here in the south, you find them on a good many of the interstate exits. anyway, i had myself a breakfast off the menu called “Mamma’s Pancake Breakfast”, real good eatin’ i’m talkin’ bout!!! well, my plate comes out steamin’ hot, and my mouth is watering like some rabid dog, and what does the waitress set down before me beside my pancakes? 2 bottle of maple syrup. the bottles look very similar to the containers that Tenax and alclad metalizers come in…so, my wheels got to turnin’…heeeey, i could use these bottles for alot of little tasks at the work bench. i’m thinkin’ of all the possibilities of my wonderful find and all of a sudden i here a faint voice that became louder and louder…finally i realize that my wife is talking to me, asking me why i’m staring at my food like and idiot and not eating it…i didn’t try and explain…she wouldn’t understand…but you guys do…don’t you?[:)] i think i’ll shut up now. later.
Looser, I would have called the waitress over and asked her if she had any of those bottles to spare or where to get them.

I ate at Cracker Barrel for the first time last October. I loved it!
I use all the plastic coffee can lids I can find as paint and putty pallettes.
Those are not from Cracker Barrell.

I know exactly what you’re talking about. It’s the look, like, ‘you are insane’. Whenever I see Eileen throw out a yogurt lid or the foil from a creamer bottle I’m like “hey, don’t throw that away!”. She looks at me like I’m insane then yells at me for a while. When I finally end up using it for something I make sure I point it out… Then do a little gloating.

Chris, You’re making me hungry. When my son lived in Georgia we’d go down to visit & always had to have a couple of breakfasts at Cracker Barrel. There’s a few in this area now, but they just aren’t the same as the Southern ones.
