Was looking on ebay at Gunze Sangyo hi-tec kits and would like to know if they are worth the 100$+ price tag. I plan on building the kit( I’m not acollecter). If i figure around 30$ for the kit, 10$ for barrel, 20$PE and 35$ for indi traks we are in the same ballpark. I don’t spend that much all the time once in a while I like to go all out.
alot of those Gunze Sangyo kits have been reboxed for Dragon with the extra bits like PE and metal replased with plastic
there ok kits but there old, the newer Dragom and Tamiya kits are better
check out Dragons new Tiger 1, now that is a high tech kit

It’s a matter of personal preference. Most (if not all) of the Gunze kits have been re-released as Dragon/DML kits, and as you indicated, the costs of what I consider to be superior aftermarket products (Eduard, Aber, Frui, etc) still comes in less then the cost of the Gunze kit.
The Gunze kits are very nice when they’re done, and there are alot of guys that aggressively seek them out, hence the high prices on Ebay and at shows.

Thank you Captain Caveman and Jeff . I have never seen one of the Gunze kits and didn’t know if the PE , indi traks, etc. are as good as current aftermarket manufacturers.
i think the indi tracks are the Modelcasten tracks in thbe Gunze kits
The Gunze Sanyo M60A1 RISE/Passive with reactive armor filled a gap when there was no such kit on the market. Now with the Tamiya or Academy kit, you can get there for much less money. More of a collector’s item than anything.
thanks Rob Gronovius it would seem in most cases ,you can find acheaper alternitive
