To WIPW and of course SHERMANFREAK

I am in the process of putting together my Firefly VC. I have completed the assembly of the turret and am now in the lower hull.

I noticed that side plates of the transmission cover that connects to the rest of the lower hull do not fit perfectly. Thus there is a step going from the sides of the lower hull going to the side plates of the transmission cover.

Is this supposed to be or there is something wrong with the fit of the kit parts?[V]

Not sure if they are supose to be there but acadamys is the same.
Now what I did was put weld beads in the step to flush it out. I couldnt find any referances to it.However Ijust came across a pic in american tanks of WWII and there is a pic of a shermy without the trans. cover and the edges are OD with the inside of the trans. assembley faded OD. So I guess my weld is wrong[:I]

Hmmmm. Thanks for the info, Thundergod. Hope Shermanfreak can enlighten us on this later.

…I can only hope.[V]

Dwight,

Yes, it’s suppose to be there. Can’t tell you why, but, I remember that as well. Hope that helps until the cavalry arrives.

I’m sure Sherm knows exactly !

Dwight,

No trumpets, no clavary, to come to your aid ? Hmmmmm ?
