To Gunboat or not to Gunboat? BF 109 G-6 R6

Hi All,

Hey I’m building a 1/32 Hasegawa bf 109 G-6, “Yellow 16” of JG 77. I’m doing Floyd Werner Jrs DVD build and it calls for the 20 mm underwing gondolas (Rustsaetze VI) and I can’t find a reference that shows if it did or did not have them. Can anyone help me in this specific area of my vast ignorance?

Floyd Werner is the Man! If he says it had them then it had them…J/K, I’m not sure, I’ll have to dig through some refs. There is a good chance it did have them though.

Hi Rich,

When it was captured, Yellow 16 was not in an R6 config. It was a G6/Trop.

Thanks Guys! No disrespect for Mr. Werner but I concur - no R6 on “Yellow 16”. Unless Nathan digs something up, I’ll fill the drilled mount holes and assemble sans the underwing cannon. They just look so cool!

Is this the same aircraft. If so, the photo’s don’t show the MG 151’s fitted.
