[:I] Just a small amount of confusion…I’m using Cutting Edge Modelworks Bf 109G-6 cockpit (which I highly recomend). It states that I should use foil for the retaining straps on the footpedals. What kind of foil is it?
I have noticed that some used lead foil…is that it & where would I acquire it? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Keith
I took this foil from a champagne bottle. You can also find it on bottles of regular wine.
This is the Verlinden set for the Bf 109G-2.
Hope this helps.
Unfortunately not a wine drinker…anywhere else?[%-)]
you can find it anywhere…
the foil covering on milk powders cocoa etc… tins.
in the uk on the covers of chinese take aways…not a wine drinker?go to
a local pub/restaurant and explain your problem to the cute waitress.
look in hardware shops for alluminium tape
if not you’ll be foiled again. sorry couldn’t resist.
ps; as an alternative to foil you can use tamiya masking tape.and
if you use the tape it would stick on by itself.
You could also use heavy-duty kitchen aluminum foil I would assume, get a roll cut of the size you need and attach it.
Thanks…this is good information.
Oh and Obiwan…nice pun![(-D]
I have found the metal tape (aluminum I think) used to seal air conditioning and heating ducts (HVAC section of Home Depot) to be excellent. It is adhesive backed and slightly thicker than Bare-Metal foil (makes it stiffer). One roll will last a lifetime.
