Hey folks,
I went to sevierville TN to the TN museum of aviation, to see if they had a b-25. I had heard they did. Well, since today was a holiday and I had to work, I took a car down there and there is no b-25 there. However they do have a cockpit of a b-25 they used in movies, which they kindly let me see the hangar without paying. Something about a professional courtesy (I like it). Anyway they let me walk in and man was I amazed. It’s real clean and they have a few aircraft there. Let’s see, a P-47, f-86D Sabre, looked like a Mig 15 or 17 or 19 in south vietnamese markings, Possible f4f, f-80 shooting star, mig 21, b-17. and so on. maybe more info at www.tnairmuseum.com. Any way the best part was I got 4 free tickets, and they are flying the planes tomorrow. I think I am going and if I do my camera will be with me.
man, today was awesome. When I showed up the tbm just landed, but it looked awesome in the air as i was driving. When i got there the p-47 was sitting at the end of the runway, waiting to take off. The sound of that thing as it flew over was awesome. I don’t know how to describe it. The mig 17f is in north vietnamese markings, and a nmf one in polish markings, a mig 21 sparka in polish markings, t-33 in canadian/us markings, and a t-33 in usaf markings, f-86d dog sabre, t-28b, at-6 texan, all those in the hangar. There was a the p-47 hun hunter xvi that flew, at-6 texan that flew, 3 t-34’s two yellow, one camo blue, piper cub that all flew. Today was a good day for me. When I get the pics developed and if they’re any good then I will try to post some.
Last time I was there, 2 years ago this summer, they didn’t display/have the Cub, T-34’s, or the Dog Sabre. There was an F-86 painted white with blue trim I have pic’s of. Also on display was a jet engine and a wing section from some large aircraft sitting next to the MiG-21. One of the T-33’s was painted in the half Gull Grey/ half Dark Grey sceme (Hill 2?) used on ANG F-4’s. All in all a fun visit. email me at f4_kicker_dan@hotmail.com please!
did you get my email?
Where the heck is TN???
North of Miami, east of Los Angeles, 15 miles from nowhere [:)]
Ah! Nashville, so TN must be Tennessee (probably got the spelling wrong there!). Can some of you guys remember we don’t all live in the US so all these state abreviations may as well be written in alien!!!

Standard Postal abbreviation for Tennessee
Take care,
Frank
Don’t worry about it Chris, there are people born and raised here (and not just in Tennessee) who don’t know the Postal Service abbreviations for the states. Even worse, I’ve met people here that don’t even know what time zone they’re in. [banghead]
On a brighter note, quite a few Air National Guard units use the two-letter postal abbreviations as their tail codes (Alaska - AK, Alabama - AL, New York - NY, Ohio - OH, Florida - FL, Georgia - GA, etc…) so that might help.
No, I didn’t. Sorry, I mighta typed it wrong. f4_kicker_dan@hotmail.com
